No matter what time of year you visit, the cottage is located in a great spot for you to enjoy the countryside and the visitor attractions nearby.

In winter we can have snow blanketing the hills & fields.

In spring we are surrounded by daffodil farms and lambs.

In summer we enjoy our 2 acre wildflower meadow.

In autumn we have are treated to red & orange woodlands.

The cottage is located halfway between Aberdeen & Dundee, a few minutes drive from the A90, and close enough to the Cairngorms, coastline, and even Royal Deeside, to be a base to strike out further afield for day trips.

Had a 2 night stay at Peter’s cottage.  Before we even booked, Peter was excellent in answering all the questions I had & made the decision to book a lot easier.  The cottage itself is in a lovely area of the country, it is so quiet & peaceful & exactly what me & my wife were looking for.  The space was exactly as described & plenty of room for the both of us & our wee dog.  Had a fantastic stay & will definitely be back.

We stayed in Edzell for 6 nights, and we found Peter’s cottage a lovely base. The cottage was easy to find and had a private garden which was perfect for Arlo, and he and Jack the resident dog got on really well.  There was ample room inside and we liked that it had its own living area space with TV.  We felt really relaxed staying with our dog Arlo.  Sometimes when staying at air bnbs although they say they are dog friendly they still don’t allow pets on furniture or you’re paranoid about muddy paws, but we felt Arlo was fully welcomed.

SOMEWHERE WE WOULD WANT TO STAY!

After careers in & around the oil industry we moved away from Aberdeen and into the Aberdeenshire/Angus countryside.  After a couple of years living here we realised that we had a great spot for visitors to enjoy the local area.  Having done all of the conversion work ourselves we have put much of our own ideals into it, working from the principle that it had to be somewhere we would want to stay.

Thistle Dhu Cottage is located on a quiet road a few minutes drive from the A90 and coincidentally halfway between Edzell & Fettercairn, Stonehaven & Forfar, and Aberdeen & Dundee. Aberdeenshire & Angus border is a mere 1 mile away.
